Vicar: Becky Stephens

Hi, I'm Becky. I was licensed as Vicar of St Peter's on 1st April 2020. It   was a strange licensing as we were in lockdown due to the coronavirus so the service took place on Zoom. The picture on the left was taken just after the Zoom service.

Before my ordination in 2014, I was a secondary school teacher. I taught maths in both Small Heath School and King Edward VI High School for Girls. After having my children, Kate and Harry, I chose to remain at home with them. It was once Kate and Harry were old enough to begin Pre School that I felt God was calling me to ordination.

I’m a huge animal lover and love to have a home full of animals. As a family, we have a dog, 2 cats, 2 rabbits and 2 guinea pigs. They mostly get on very well together.

Becky is also the Priest in Charge of Holy Trinity, Sutton Coldfield and the Oversight Minister for the Central Sutton Coldfield Oversight Area.

Curate: Matt Mason

It’s a real joy and privilege to return to my hometown and serve in a place that means so much to me.

My journey into ministry began through music in my teens—when I first sensed God stirring something deeper in me.

Before full-time ministry, I spent 15 years as an engineer and later operations director at a local firm. I’m married to Beth, and we have three amazing children.

In time, God’s call grew stronger until I couldn’t ignore it. That led me to train at St. Mellitus College. Since then, I’ve served my curacy across different contexts and traditions at Lighthouse Church St. Mary’s Pype Hayes and St. Michael’s Church Boldmere.

Now, I’m excited to join Rev’d Becky Stephens and the team at Holy Trinity Sutton Coldfield and St. Peter’s Maney. I feel honoured to be part of what the Holy Spirit is doing in this community.
